Memphis sits at the center of America's overdose epidemic. Shelby County's opioid death toll climbed from 123 deaths in 2018 to 499 in 2023. The damage extends far beyond fatalities: in 2025 alone, local hospitals logged over 1,200 suspected opioid overdoses through late November.

Raymond Cui and Ashish Kalaga are raising funds for MOPbot, the Memphis Overdose Prevention Chatbot, built to address the opioid crisis in Memphis and Shelby County.

MOPbot gives Memphis residents access to education, statistics, local resources, and relevant laws, all through a private and judgment-free space. It is not a replacement for professional help. It is a bridge to it, available to anyone who needs support right now.

The service is completely free for the community. We cover every cost, including website hosting and API access, so that no one is ever turned away due to cost. Your donation directly sustains this tool and keeps it free for the people of Memphis who need it most.
